All About Al Ain is a local guide to cafés, restaurants, salons, gyms and perfume shops in Al Ain, UAE, and the discounts available across the city. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what control you have. We follow the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

What we collect

Your location never leaves your device

If you tap “Close by me”, the app asks your device for your position and calculates distances on your phone. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared. You can refuse the permission and keep using the whole app.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party ad networks.
We do not take payments, so we never handle card details.
Listings are never pay-to-play — a place cannot buy a better position.

Who processes data for us

We use Supabase (database, authentication and storage) and Netlify (web hosting) purely as processors acting on our instructions. Place information, ratings and photos come from public sources such as Google Maps and the delivery apps; that content is about businesses, not about you.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed. Anonymous, aggregated counts (for example “this dish has 42 upvotes”) may remain, because they no longer identify anyone.

Your rights

Delete your account — in the app: Profile → Delete account. This removes your account and personal data.
Access a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it.
Withdraw consent at any time — you can keep browsing without an account.
Object to how we handle your data, or complain to the UAE Data Office.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where required, ask for your consent again.
